Lion's Mane is a type of edible mushroom (Hericium erinaceus) that has been used in traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine. It resembles a clump of white, cascading spines and is said to look somewhat like a lion's mane. The mushroom is reputed to have various health benefits, most notably for cognitive function and mental health. Some preliminary studies suggest that it may support brain health by promoting nerve growth factor (NGF) and could potentially improve focus, memory, and even offer mood-boosting effects.
The recommended Lion's Mane dosage commonly ranges between 500 milligrams to 3000 milligrams per day, depending on individual needs and product potency. Our capsules contain 450 mg and we recommend 2 capsules per day.
There are some possible side effects of taking Lion's Mane mushroom (Hericium erinaceus) as a dietary supplement, although they are rare:
Stomach discomfort: Some people may experience stomach discomfort when taking Lion's Mane. These are usually mild side effects, but if they persist or become severe, you should discontinue the product.
Allergic reactions: Some individuals may be allergic to the mushroom and experience allergic reactions such as itching or rashes. If you suspect an allergic reaction, you should stop using Lion's Mane and seek medical assistance.
It is important to note that these side effects are relatively rare, and most people can take Lion's Mane without any issues. If you are uncertain or have any existing medical conditions, you should consult your doctor before starting to use this dietary supplement.
Lion's Mane is considered a safe consumption choice, as it lacks addictive properties, even with daily use. Additionally, at elevated doses, this mushroom does not exhibit addictive traits, and there is no evidence supporting the potential for addiction to Lion's Mane.
At Ancient Therapy, we take pride in our 10:1 powdered extract.
The potency of your extract tincture or powdered supplement is crucial, as it typically requires a significant amount of ingredients to achieve the most advantages and optimal outcomes, as with all botanicals. Many brands commonly offer ratios ranging from 1:1 at the lower range to 10:1 at the higher end.
This ratio indicates that for every 1kg or 10kgs of mushroom used, 1kg of extract is yielded.
At Ancient Therapy, we take pride in our 10:1 powdered extract.
Lion’s Mane mushrooms boast minimal calories and fat, serving as an excellent inclusion in a nutritious diet.
